1977 MGB STARTER PROBLEMS.
Discussion
I recently replaced the starter motor in my Mgb and I noticed that the previous owner had done some rewiring to it using any colour wire he had at hand. I bought the correct coded wire and replaced the butchered stuff with new. Now however, a problem has arisen in that when I switch the ignition to the on position, i.e. So the ignition light is illuminated, the starter engages straight away and won't go off. I've followed the wiring diagram however I'm no auto. Electrician. I've changed the starter and ignition relays with new and replaced the ignition switch but the problem still persists. Does anyone have any idea what this could be. Cheers

You've probably got instigator wire and the ballast cold start wire (the two small wires that go to small terminals) the wrong way around.Gassing Station | Home Mechanics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
