Arterial Oil leak

Hi

I have a problem with my van. Its a 2000 Nissan Vanette (same as the LDV Cub) with the 2.3 naturally aspirated diesel.  I backed it into my yard the other day and it decided to drop its oil everywhere.  A little examination and I discovered its throwing it out of the part pictured.  It looks like a pipe has come off.  Thing is I have no idea what that part is or what it should connect to.  Any advice gratefully received.
