Fitted a new speedo to mk4 polo. Car now won’t start

Bought an old polo,recently and the speedo doesn’t work. Bought a new speedo cluster and fitted it and car won’t start. Put the old one back in and car starts. Is it something to do with the immobiliser, do I need to rest something? Thanks.

Sorry , it’s a mk5, not a mk4

Ecu / bcm/ dash / keys all coded to each other , you need to get everything recoded .
