Hi there guys & gals
As the title says "All Ignition lights on with no key in the ignition".
I went to start the car this morning pressed the button to unlock it and as I was about to sit down in my seat I noticed in the instrument cluster all the ignition lights on I had to check that I still had the keys in my hand YEP. confusedconfused
I inserted the key and turned the key and nothing.
Does anybody have any ideas why this must be so ?

The battery is probably knackered.

This is the first time this has happened and I can normally go to the car and start it without a problem

The batteries on modern cars are set up such a way that one of the last systems to fail in the starting system. So the battery was probably on it's last legs and now has let go. Hence the odd behaviour of the dash.

And also, it's probably the easiest to test for and likely the cheapest to fix...

Just because it is the first time it has happened does not mean it isn't the issue.

As above the batteries in modern cars fail in many ways and likely the last can be starting.

Thanks to all who replied
I have now bitten the bullet and purchased a new battery, as a Yorkshireman that really bites home , but I have saved it on the road fund licence £30.00
