Hey, hoping someone will be able to help here!
My EGR valve went kaput a week or so ago, and my car wouldn't start at all. It's a Corsa D 1.3 CDTI 2014. The AA came out and fitted a blanking plate in a link pipe to get the car going until the EGR value was replaced (the EGR value on the car is a real pain to get to). It took the AA chap about 15-20 mins to fit this blanking pipe.

The EGR value was replaced last Friday, but when I mentioned the blanking plate to the guy that replaced the EGR value for me he didn't find one...
Anyhow, the engine management light flashed on again today with the same error code as when the blanking plate was fitted. I strongly suspect the blanking plate is still in situ, and I'd like it removed otherwise there's no point in having the EGR value replaced!

On the AA report, it says a blanking plate was fitted in link pipe - anyone have ideas which link pipe this could be? If anyone has any pics/diagrams that would help too. Cheers!

Look between the intake manifold, EGR valve, and the exhaust. If the plate is present then it should be somewhere there.

I suspect maybe the plate has been fitted at the exhaust end and it would be perfectly possible for a garage to replace an EGR valve without knowing there was a blanking plate present there.

You might be able to find it if it's present without taking anything off by spotting the metal plate between places that parts join to one another.

Also, depending on the car, replacing an EGR valve or similar won't remove the engine light until the code is cleared. This is the case on my Saab as I had to use opcom to clear the code after fitting an EGR simulator.

Looking online at the blanking plates available for your car will also give you an idea of where the plate might be based on the shape of them.

Thanks all.

Found it in the end. The tech had put in on one end of the EGR pipe underneath what I think is the throttle body.
