Cleaning trailer plug connections

Often borrowing people’s trailer / helping folk out. Always piss about with dodgy lights bulbs wiring but the hardest of all to work out is iffy contacts

Various people spray WD40 in which seems to make no odds, but leave a gloopy gritty mess

People say contact cleaner but when questioned don’t really know what they are saying

Is there something I can spray once in a while to help or do I just change the plugs every now and then

Screwfix or tool station ideally

Yep flood the socket and plug with contact cleaner. Do it with all the lights and ignition off.
Allow to dry for 5 min and you should be good to go.

Back in the mists of time, motor factors sold a sort
of male/female bottleneck wire brush device that
did the job. Might be worth a Gurgle?

Yes it’s called a hella kleenaplug

Cant seem to find em, will have a look on my travels

Spray with vinegar two or three times during a day, wash with water and allow to dry
