Hi
Sorry new into cars, so not sure about too many things.
I know we needs to get the numbers right when buying a tyres lile 165/65/14 etc.

How do we find replacement battery?
This is a picture of my current battery. There are a few numbers on top, which numbers do I look for when buying a replacement battery of any other brand.

most places will ask your number plate and they will know the battery. if your buying online then use place like eurocarparts first to put in your number plate and note the details of the battery to search other places

Virtually all car batteries will be 12v, so you don’t need to worry about that but.

The key thing really is to get the same battery capacity. Yours is 36ah. (Ampere hours)

You can obviously also measure the physical dimensions of your existing battery.

If you get one that fits in the same space, and is 36ah (or more) then you should be fine. No real need to complicate it more than that.

There is also a CCA rating, but any battery with the same capacity should have a similar CCA. (Yours is 330 if you want to double check)

As others have said, typing your registration number into some sites should give battery suggestions, but use the above information to make sure it’s recommending the correct ones.

Details of your car into the various battery websites should come up with the usual battery for it.

But the battery you currently have fitted is a right hand positive 056.

Thank you for replying. Just a quick question, how do you work out right hand or let hand positive? I have taken this picture standing in front of bonnet.

I put my reg number in some websites and they gave me 054 battery. I know the current one in my car is 056. I asked a seller on eBay and he said I need 054 and the next nearest compatible one is 055.

As this car has 056 in, will putting a 054 or 055 have some negative effects on it?

Thank you

‘ybx3056’ is written in your battery.
Put this into the Tanya site and it finds this:
https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/yuasa/ybx305...

Looks like the same battery, just check the dimensions to be sure.

From your picture the left hand terminal has a positive + sign next to it. So that’s your positive terminal. from that you should be able to deduce where the negative terminal goes. The new battery will also be marked up similarly

the other thing is if the battery has been replaced in the past they might not of fitted the same rating as the factory did when it was new

The battery fitted to your car is an 056. The only difference to an 054 is the 056 has a foot at the bottom for a conventional clamp. They are identical in terms of power and size.

Your battery is clamped across the top, so that doesn’t matter, therefore the seller is right, an 054 is suitable for your car.

As there is no insulation on your positive battery terminal, just be carful you don't accidentally touch the clamp to the positive terminal when removing/reinstalling the battery

Remove the negative terminal first (and replace it last) to reduce risk of shorting when you're removing / refitting the clamps. Give your clamps a good clean as well.
