Hi everyone. I am looking for ideas as to the issue my Polo has atm.

Ten days ago I had new front tyres fitted and as my handbrake was seizing on overnight or for any length of time parked, I asked the garage to look at that too.
They have managed to unstick the cable and didn't need to replace it, but unfortunately found that the rear brake cylinders needed replacing. Job done, paid for frown and car going ok. After about five days I detected a small rattle on the passenger rear side of the car, just a little one. Assumed it was something of nothing as I am prone to worrying about all kinds of noises that turn out to be nothing. Anyway, on my way back today from an essential journey, and the last fifty yards to my house, the noise suddenly got louder, as in really noticeable now. It's related to the speed the wheels are turning, I've checked underneath as much as I can for anything caught in the wheel, it doesn't make a sound in reverse, but I have to go out again later and I'm a bit flummoxed tbh. It's not a high pitch noise like a squeak, just sounds like something is catching on the wheel. Any suggestions?

I suggest you jack the wheel up, see whether you still get the noise when you spin it, confirm nothing is touching the outside of the tyre rim. This will confirm the problem is inside the brakes. Wheel off, drum off will probably make it obvious. This is not great weather to be doing this sort of job on the driveway. Are you close enough to the garage to get them to deal with it? If it's making as much noise as you're describing, I wouldn't want to drive it far. If something has come adrift in the brake mechanism you could realistically find yourself with no braking, or a locked up wheel.
