minor bump from snow

i hit a snow bump while reversing i

it refuses to clip back in like something is blocking it? hammer it?

I don't know how that's secured, but perhaps there is a firtree clip or similar which has come out of engagement and is now bent out of shape. Hammering wouldn't fix that.

The picture shows the plastic tabs that secure it. If you can't flex the panel far enough to reengage them, you'll need to undo the fixing screws so you can slide the panel out a quarter of an inch or so, which will let you reengage those tabs.
