I've had a kit in the car for a couple of years as I don't want to attempt to use the foam repair kit.
A colleague had a screw in his new tyre on Thursday, so we thought we would try out the String kit.
Very, very simple to use, however you need a bit of strength to force it in.
It worked as said it would on the tin.
I was pretty impressed to be honest. The easiest punture I've ever fettled.
Whats the PH view on these repairs.
Safe or not?
I do believe they have been used in the USA for years, but I don't know how long they have been legal here.

I've used them about a dozen, or so, times on the family's cars, and they've worked just fine.

I did one on my Shogun about 3 years ago. The tyre still holds air and I haven't died in a flaming fireball .

I'm surprised your saying not legal here.
My local Tyre Place uses them, that's where I first saw them, a good few year's ago.
They are advertised all over the place, Amazon, eBay etc.
I didn't know they would be allowed to do that.
However after doing a repair and understanding how it holds itself in the tyre, the glue seems more of a lubricant than anything else, the strings being so sticky!
It seems pretty safe to me, we'll see!

I wouldn’t use them on anything faster than a tractor.

No, nothing like Dynaplugs. Do a Google.

If a string kit is good enough to be standard equipment on a Lotus Evora, it should be okay for a bit more than a tractor
