Hello,

I'm looking for an USB endoscope (or boroscope... Not sure what the difference is!) for peering into little holes in cars. I have had a look on Amazon and eBay and they seem to be flooded with cheap Chinese st!

Has anyone any experience with these? Must be USB connection and cheapish. Not too worried about high resolutions

Cheers!

I bought one of the generic cheapy £10 ones from either Ebay or Amazon (can't remember which) to look inside a plasterboard wall using my phone as the viewing screen. It has an infrared bulb on the end for when there's no natural light.

It's fine for such inspections, and I expect any of the other £10 specials will do the job too.

Please note OP, before you spend your money, most of these come with the following warning: "Must not be used for medical purposes...".

Whereabouts in N Yorks are you? I have one you can have FOC if you're somewhere near. Note it's USB, mind, not for a phone.

Thanks for replies chaps!

Nah I had a professional do the medical bit before and it's not something i'm very keen to repeat! (at least he said he was a professional...)

Thanks littleredrooster - much appreciated, USB only would be fine smile I am in Guisborough, where are you?

Thirsk - don’t mind a bit of a run out though! Retired, so could be anytime to suit, but pick a fine day so i can get the top down!

I've had a few.
Many of the super cheap ones are only 360p resolution.

Spend a bit of time looking for a 1080p IP67 one, the difference in picture quality is well worth it for the extra couple of quid (literally) they cost

They get a bit warm unfortunately, still managed a peer into my ear - swimmers osteomas! Wouldn't recommend anywhere else. Very good for finding dead mice behind kitchen units...

I bought a depstech WiFi one from amazon recently. Pretty pleased with it for about £40. Have previously had a cheaper usb one, which was alright but image wasn't great and it wouldn't work with certain phones and tablets, hence why I went for a wifi one this time round.
