hi everyone

was wondering if someone can help me find out whats wrong with my car

Car Make : Dacia Sandero 67(2007)

mileage :13,000

My car has been struggling to to drive normal like it struggles to pull when accelarating and its rough idle , the car is making a loud tapping noise like click click cluck

on the way home the dash lights came on

(ABS),

(ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT flashing ),

(SQUARE WITH MOUNTAIN PEAKS orange)

(TRIANGLE WITH CAR AND SKIDS)

i drove the car home slowly and had someone check it with diagnostics and brought up the following codes

DF093 DOWNSTREAM OXYGEN SENSOR SHORT CIRCUIT

DF060 MISFIRE CYLINDER 2 POLLUTING MISFIRING

DF060 MISFIRE CYLINDER 2 DESTRUCTIVE MISFIRING

DF010 WARNING LIGHT FAULT INCONSISTENT

DF109. . LOW FUEL MISFIRE POLLUTING MISFIRE

DF193 INVALID MULTIPLEX SIGNAL

DF101 CONTROL PANEL MULTIPLEXED EMISSION MISSING

DF1364. UNDER INFLATED

i dont know what they all mean , and was wondring if anyone had the same issue and could me get this fix, smile.png

That's a lot of faults, has a belt snapped and taken out a load of sensors? You need a proper diagnostics at a garage really rather than an Internet one.

Change No2 coil pack, clear all the codes and drive it normally. It will probably jump into full health. Lots of those codes are to do with the misfire on No2 cylinder. Of course there could be different reasons for the misfire, but the coil is the most likely. resetting the codes will allow you to understand what's historical, hysterical, and real / current issues. That's what I would do if it were mine, and I do this for a living.

Clear all the codes, move coil pack 2 to cylinder 4, roadtest and see what comes back. If the fault moves with it then its the coil pack, replace all the plugs and the offending coil pack.

If the fault stays with cylinder 2, remove the plug and check, replace the plug, clear codes, roadtest. If fault returns then something is seriously amiss on cylinder 2, possibly injector or internal engine fault.

Hi

Thanks so much for your advice guys , it was the spark plug in cylinder 2 that was broken as you can see in the photo it was missing the tip causing misfire

I have now installed new NGK spark plugs and runs nicely

I am a little concerned though about the tip missing , I used my inspection camera down the hole but could not see any pieces of the spark plug , and also used a magnet but picked up nothing. The car engine makes no noises so hopefully it’s still ok to drive

Hopefully it went straight out the exhaust, but that plug was well and truly gone !

Wot 'e said.

Also the ceramic tip could have done lots of damage, I assume you saw no bore damage when you had the camera in there.

To be honest I didn’t notice any damage but there were lines on the walls and the base where the camera was facing down looked worse on the 2nd cylinder compared to 1 and 3 ( there’s only 3 spark plugs for Dacia ) not sure if that’s normal , to be honest I was looking for the pieces

I noticed oil at the bottom of the engine cover , and in the 3rd spark plug when I removed it

Not sure what to do

Also forgot to mention

When I removed spark plug 3 , the spark plug ceramic bit felt loose , luckily that didn’t break either,

I would like to know what would have caused this to break
As it may well happen again

Maybe I should get rid of the car
