Thanks, but I’ve had one of those before. I doubt it even lasted a month before terminally failing with no refunds / returns given. These are very good, I use one in work and at home, shop around and you may get it closer to £25, the link below is just an example.

One of the best things I ever did (in this respect) was buy a headlamp. It's the best thing since sliced bread and all other types of lamps I have are totally redundant.
A few Pro mechanics I know all have them too, buy one, you'll thank me.
Well ok you won't, but in theory.
As in the lights that you strap to your head?A few Pro mechanics I know all have them too, buy one, you'll thank me.

I was thinking more of a lightsaber type light.
I’ve been eyeing up one of the Astro Pneumatic cordless charging lights, but at £80ish, I’m wondering if they are a bit steep, despite the amazing reviews.
It's not quite the style you're looking for, but I got some of these a few years ago and I've been very pleased with them. The light is fairly bright, they're physically robust and have a strong magnet - which means you can usually get them aimed at the problem.

I think we might have a winner

Thank you

Big wide spread of light, 3 rechargeable batteries and the charger is integrated into it.
After trying one I went back and bought another two, I do this for a living and wouldn't use anything else now.

That looks pretty good. Any problems with heat from the LEDs strapped to your head?https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303778773256?var=603004...

LEDs don't give off heat, at least not that you can detect without measuring equipment.
A good LED is still less than 40% efficient. The remaining energy is lost as heat in the semiconductor. With a 30W LED you could be generating 15-20W of heat. Not a huge amount, but potentially enough to matter when it's strapped to your head.Although American based I’m a big fan of this guy, seems to use a lot of Astro stuff.

I have used several different ones over the years & have not been able to feel any heat/warmth on the forehead.
