hi guys ,
need to buy 2 new front tyres in next couple of months for my 2017 kia sportage 1.6 gdi (215/70 r16 h ) has OEM hankooks on at the moment .obviously not a performance car lol so don,t need anything top end pricewise .usual mileage is about 5/6000 a year, mostly A roads and some motorway very rarely go above 80 mph.so i,m asking for recommendations for tyres little bit better than the cheapest ditchfinders but not more expensive than is required.
thanks in advance

Are you trying to say you want to fit tyres that are cheaper than those fitted when new?

no, not really just a better tyre if it,s cheaper great but not at the expense of a decent performance i suppose i,m asking are there better alternatives than the hankooks i,ve got without spending a lot more

I’d stick with the hancooks but if you don’t mind spending a bit more Goodyear make great premium tyres at the lower end of that price bracket.

Vredestein Ultracs @ £65.50 each on Camskill, used Vreds many times never had any issues.

Don't see many 70 aspect tyres around now, what a sensible size, bet they soak up the bumps from the odd bit of tarmac between the pot holes well.
