What are my options on 2 post lifts nowadays?
Discussion
Hi everyone,
Hope you alright.
I'm looking to buy lifts for my workshop building in near future. What type of lifts should I go with?
I think 2 post lifts are quite popular and in my opinion 3-4 tonne one should be enough? I won't be loading anywhere like 4 tonnes on it though, max 3.1tonne like a loaded Range Rover or Q7 - Q8. But as well, there will be sports cars on it, low cars. Can I just get away with a regular lift and place some type of small ramps to raise the car like 5 cm or so if the car is too low, or should I look out for the lowest lifts possible?
I'm planning to buy more than one but also I will be adding 4 wheel alignment to my shop in the near time so, should I add one 4 post lift where the car is on its wheels but on the lift? Just to make things easier and better in the future...
Also, should I try to stretch my budget and get a 4 wheel computerised alignment now for like 5-7k ? Would it be beneficial to have it along with my wheel and tire machinery set? Would it worth it?
I can get a lazer manual alignment setup now but honestly, I'm not sure if people would pay for it when there are computerised ones? What do you think?
Please feel free to tell your opinions, I'm here to get some advice, everyone is welcome if you have anything. Thanks!

Tbh I just want to learn about these and I think asking is the best way to start and hear from more experienced ones… I’m in a partnership with someone I know, he knows a bit better but im looking to get some more info just in case he isn’t aware of new ones available. Do you have any experience with these lifts? Cheers.
