Occasional knocking from rear of car

What could occasionally knocking when turning left be? It does it when turn sharp left. If turn slowly doesn't really do it. I looked online and points to a worn CV joint? It's done it for around 5 years. Is only a £500 car. And has always passed its MOT with it. Thanks for any insight.
