Hi Pistonheads,

I changed the rear shock absorbers on my wife's BMW Z4 a week or so ago.

Recently we've noticed that the traction control warning light sometimes comes on, usually under mild acceleration and cuts the power momentarily. This is on a dry road, and it's only the 2.0. The wheels are definitely not spinning.

I replaced the shock absorbers with pattern parts from Sachs which I bought new from Ebay. Obviiously, the recent shock absorber change could just be a coincidence though.

What should I check?

Thanks!

Check the wheel speed sensors and wiring to them in the areas that you worked.

Tread depth on the tyres would be my first port of call. Due to camber they may be bald on the inside edge.
