Does anyone here have any experience of Lift Giant, Twinbusch or Automotechservices lifts? Just about ready to purchase, but interested in any pro's and con's or experiences with the above companies, particularly in respect of delivery and installation.

Not seen them. Website's a bit light on detail; mind if I ask how much?

No problems with my Automotech single poster or tyre balancer, got a tyre machine from Liftech which has been great too and they're very helpful on the phone if you have any questions

Well, after mulling it over, I decided on a Twin Busch 4-post parking lift. Mainly because the lift is manufactured in Germany but also because they answered my e-mail query on Thursday within 30 minutes, and couldn't have been more helpful. So here we are, Saturday evening, and it's been delivered, installed, and has a car on it, barely 60 hours after my initial contact. And I'm still waiting for a reply from some of the others I contacted.

All in, with a hydraulic jacking beam, drip trays, delivery and installation for <£4k inc. VAT,

Umm, is it really made in Germany? Designed there but made where most of them are - China.

Which is where mine was made and is still travelling from by some form of horse and cart I think.

Yes; I should have said 'designed/engineered'. The TÜV/ISO/SEMA certification helped. But ultimately, the service from Twin Busch was/has been outstanding.

I do like a four poster (I've got an Automotec AS-4T36S shorty) but any good quality lift transforms your home garage experience for the better. Congrats. thumbup

Just spotted that the lift I bought in April for £1590+VAT is now £2350+VAT. Wowza. Looks like the price was the same for 8 years and then it went up substantially.

Automotech seemed the best price and looking on Pistonheads for recommendations have swayed this way.

Automotech said I need a 20A power supply for my 4 poster, as the garage is currently being built we have opted for it central. Does anyone have pics of their power supply in relation to where they have located their ramp.

The hydraulic unit screws to a bracket on one of the lift posts; that lift post can go at the front left or back right (as viewed from above) when you assemble the lift.

I installed a 16A type C breaker for the lift’s commando socket and it’s worked fine so far.

Arrived yesterday, guys took about 2 and a half hours to erect.
Very slightly wobbly unloaded (it's free standing) but stable once a car on it.
Was hoping to get the TVR under it but just too tight unless i can get the runways up another notch without punching a hole in the roof...

Is it stable enough for you to put a plate under the feet to lift the whole thing up a little? That would give you a much smaller increment than a whole tooth on the locks.

Looking at that option although it would need to be solid. The installers were telling me that someone used rubber pads and the thing became a little unstable.....
25mm solid block a little larger than the footplate would work though I would think. 25mm steel block would be somewhat heavy to cart about though.
There are different cars to go on top so the blocks may need to be removable. Oak? 25mm ply?

I'm sure any wooden boards would be fine in terms of compression strength - this doesn't need steel plates.

To get the TVR under I need to raise by about 40mm. minimum.
The Lotus up top has about 120mm clearance to the roof joists,
When you lower the platform you have to raise the runways about 50mm to clear the locking mechanism.
Leaves me about 30mm to avoid punting the Lotus through the roof.
Doable but risky.....
TVR on top would be easier. If I remove the targa panel the screen would fit between roof joists.

What I need is a GT40 ;-)
