Citroen C3 rattling between 1,200 and 1,400 rpm

I have a C3 Aircross diesel hire car which rattles when I accelerate between 1,200 and 1,400 rpm.

What does this mean please and will it develop into a serious problem quickly?

Could be nothing. But could be serious.

You'll need to give a better description to get a better answer I think.

Thank you. I don't know how to describe it other than rattling.

I have experimented in different gears and the same thing happens at the same rpm, but only when my foot is on the gas, not when coasting in gear.

It's a hire car & it is a diesel, if you are worried call them & change it, otherwise do what everyone else has done with it...... Keep it well above 1400 rpm.
