Astra 1.3 CTDI (Z13DTH) engine issue
Discussion
Hi Everyone
I keep getting the occasional issue with my 2008 Astra. When driving, the engine looses most of its power and doesn't rev up. I was driving yesterday and I was reving the car quite hard to pull out on a roundabout which was fine. Shortly after, I stopped at some traffic lights and went to pull off but the car accelerates painfully slowly and the only way I can get the car to move without stalling is to accelerate up to 2000 (which takes about 10-15 seconds) and the engage then clutch to start crawling. I can only get the revs up to around 3000 with my foot to the floor.
I pulled over at one point and stopped the car hoping it might do some sort of reset, but this didn't help the issue. I managed to carry on my journey doing around 35mph and things seem to go back to normal after a few miles. I don't get any warning lights on the dash and there isn't any fault codes listed in the ECU.
The car had a new turbo and ERG valve when I first had it around 10,000 miles ago and it was also serviced at this time as well. I also changed the map sensor a few years ago after I last had this issue.
Can anyone shed any light on what might be causing the issue?
Many thanks
