Brake fluid, use by date

Hi, appreciate that it is recommended to change brake fluid every two years. When I last changed the fluid I bought too much and had a spare bottle left

The bottle has never been opened and is still factory sealed.

I presume that the recommended change every two years is based on when the fluid was first used and not when it was first manufactured?

Should be OK sealed. It's about water content which it absorbs from the air, so at long as its protected from that it should be fine.
