Would the kind folk of PH recommend a good tyre pressure gauge; one that is small enough to keep somewhere like the tyre tool kit on my car…

Accuracy is obviously paramount, but as I like nicely crafted metal things (pens/watches) a nice form factor would be a bonus..

Thanks all..

Premium analogue gauges tend to be the circular dial with hose type. Not sure that ticks your boxes.

The pen type gauges are much of a muchness. Might as well just get a Draper. The alternative would be a vintage one off eBay but accuracy will be a lottery.

I’ve got a digital draper gauge which is easy to use and accurate. Doesn’t look or feel nice though. My metal pen style was over by 1psi but consistent and old.

On the hunt for an accurate gauge, I got myself one of these which I keep in the garage.

I also have a gauge on a manual piston foot pump and an electric tyre air pump. They all have different readings. The dial and hose one reads the highest and I assume is the most accurate but with no calibrated device to compare against there's no way of telling.

I’ve had one of these for years and years

Nicely made. Can’t comment on accuracy as I have no reference point but I trust it a lot more than built in pump gauges.

That is way overpriced.

The Draper digital was recently top of an Auto Express test and is under £10.

I have one of these, think it was recommended by someone here a couple of years ago.

Maybe but I thought of it because the OP mentioned placing a little value on form factor etc and the Halfords one in my link looks nicer and feels far more solid than most of the cheaper ones I’ve had and comes in a decent hard case.

Must admit I prefer the look of the analogue gauges but I stopped using them as sometimes it's dark and a little onboard lighting is useful.

JACO make some of the best analogue gauges. Not sure if a stockist over here but I'm sure you'll be able to get one online. I've had a Snap-on one for over 20 years from my days on the tools.

Another Halfords gauge user here but a slightly different one.

Before buying, I recollected another gauge thread on PH but couldn't find it, so Googled for reviews and this one seemed to get good reviews. One 'eBay' purchase later (not at the Halfords price eek ) and it arrived. I've 'set' my car tyres with it but no idea as to how accurate or precise it is as I have nothing (of known high quality) to check it against.

I have:
1) Tire-Tek large analogue gauge
2) Draper pencil gauge
3) older Halfords black plastic digital
All read within 1psi of each other

The Tire-Tek looks nice but has a rotatable angle end, that would be better off straight.
The Draper pencil gauge is very hard to read, I don’t use it anymore.
The Halfords one is way and above the easiest to use.

My 335d on 225 & 255 18” runflats, is sensitive to a particular setting (I set to the 5 person load), but the tyres hold that pressure for a long time - long enough until I play with the pressures again.
I set them to the stated 5 person setting, when cold. Then I reset the TPMS (as you should). However the TPMS reads below the cold value until about twenty miles or so, and then it matches the cold value.
I also have a JoeBlow Sport track pump (for bicycles) that has a gauge that goes to 160psi, that is better than any foot pump for pumping tyres (cycle or car).
Here are the Halfords and Tire-Tek ones, with the pump

I was given a 'Halfords Rapid Digital Tyre Inflator' (one of these: https://www.halfords.com/tools/garage-equipment/ty... ) for Christmas years ago. I worked out the best front and rear pressures for my car according to its read-out and as it's always in the boot I've no need to worry about its accuracy.

I've lost count of the number of those pen type gauges, can't remember where I put my last one, possibly on the car roof, gutter..
