Are these any good?
Do they damage the hose?

Think I've used a pair of molegrips in my distant past, protecting the hose with tape or pieces of wood.....

I've used them for years without issues but have never left them on for extended periods. Not so keen on the plastic ones that look like snips though.

I've used this type for years - works well and easy to use in tight spaces...

Cheers paintman & 5s Alive,
The clamping bit still looks circular rather than flat, was wondering how it stopped the oil flow, take your word and order one up.
Thanks

I don't like to clamp brake hoses so tight it could damage them, i've never found a use for these things either.
There is usually another way to do a job rather than use them.

The rounded profile is more effective and stresses the hose less than a flat/square edge design as it gently curves the hose towards the clamping point without straight edge/right angle stress points.

I have a pair of 'Mole' grips, to whose jaws I have tack welded two halves of half-inch tube.
Quicker to put on and off, and less likley to damge the hose as the load is spread more.
