I'd have thought for the price of engine oil (not a huge amount), best to get whatever is in spec for your engine. I doubt it'll be a huge difference in cost

I'd get the cheapest version of the correct spec oil.

I once had a Montego as a temporary run about that burnt/leaked so much oil that I topped it up with the oil I'd drained out of other engines during an oil change...I now used either Valvoline or Mobile 1 or GTX with the grade as appropriate. Nothing wrong with most of the Halfords stuff I would have thought.

There are only a handful of places which blend oil, so Halfords will be made by a company also producing other brands.

Anything which meets spec will be fine, you may get something cheaper online, although if you have a trade card then Halfords prices are very good.

Opie Oils should have something reasonably priced but still decent quality.

Yep. Motor factors often have an obscure make on offer.

I’ve always found creosote best for sheds, though you could use old engine oil. Don’t think the brand matters.
