I have a couple of pairs of mechanix gloves (and rarely remember to use them) and find that the times I do put them on, it's cold and wet.

So then they get wet, keep my hands cold and wet, and ingrain the oil and muck slurry that permeates through the leather and fabric. So when I've finished the job and stripped the gloves off, my hands are no better off than if I hadn't bothered.

Anyone found a waterproof mechanics glove, with half decent feel through them?

I know there's the latex option but they typically last 5 minutes and if you're doing heavy stuff, even less. Or is it latex glove underneath Mechanix glove?

You'll find with waterproof gloves - I use a lot of disposable nitriles - that in hot weather your hands will sweat & you'll finish with your hands looking like you've been sat in a hot bath for a long time.

Effectively you're roasting in your own juices. Lovely. But at least they'll be clean.

Thick gloves reduce the 'feel'.
Thin waterproofs don't last, but there again a box isn't that expensive & you change as required.

Your suggestion of nitriles under your gloves might be your best way.

Latex gloves are next to useless, as above Nitrile are much more robust.

in bad weather, rally technicians wear a pair of nitriles under their work gloves.

I like the 50p (when bought in bulk) PU gloves on ebay

If you need them to be waterproof nitrile underneath them

I tend to simply wear nitrile when doing particularly wet / oily jobs and PU the rest of the time
