So I've had to change the battery on my 2013 2.0l diesel Yeti today, in hurry car died away from home.
The last battery I changed was on my 2009 Audi and it needed coding so expected the Yeti to need it, yet the chap in Halfords (yes i know not the best point of referance) said it didn't. Both are non stop start and not AGM
Can anyone convince me it's not just another money spinner by the main dealers?

It will need coding, as the car needs to know how to charge it

My mini, non stop start, but has intelligent battery monitoring, had a battery replaced by BMW, lasted just over two years before it started to die. Had another new one fitted by a mini indie, and when he registered it, he could see from the logs BMW failed to do it.
