Changing the rear shocks on my 2013 Volvo V60. I've order a set of two, but I just wanted to check something.
When the current ones come off the car, I believe they have a collar/tube that protects the pin/shaft that goes in and out. The ones I have ordered / everyone I saw online didn't come with that protective collar, can I remove the one from my current one with the top mount for it and replace onto the new shock?

Or, do the pictures of them online show it like this as they are fully extended?

I've found another set of 2 for about £40 more which comes with the dust cover sleeves on, £90 vs £50. If the sleeve is transferable from old to new, i'll do that, if not I may just cancel and get the ones that come with it pre-assembled..

Thanks

They can normally be swapped over with care if not damaged.

You can. Make sure you swap over any foam/rubber bits that might be in there too. Check their condition ànd replace if required.
