Does P-HOAT damage silicone hoses?
Discussion
Hey everyone,
After a lot of reading I have found that OAT and certain brands have had a bit of a bad history when it comes to the 2-EHA in them eating silicone. I have recently fitted silicone hoses to my vehicle and am preparing to flush out the Dexcool OAT that was in there.
Now the newer H-OAT I have been told is great stuff and even better is the asian market P-HOAT, which contains no 2-EHA and is more friendly to aluminium components. In my mind, the fact that it doesn't contain the 2-EHA stuff means that it will be safe to use with silicon hoses. I have heard that Toyota use the stuff exclusively as many of their vehicles use silicone gaskets.
Any thoughts?
Cheers
