302 Cobra Ford EFi help

Hi all, my new to me AC Cobra IV has a horrible hesitation/jerk at low throttle openings.

It is a 1988 car with the 5.0 Efi Ford. I suspect it is EGR or o2 sensor related. Car is a California car with squeaky smog pump, so far not removed.

I think the car has diagnosic somewhere, but it’s not going to be OBD and I haven’t any experience of reading codes on old stuff.

Does anyone have any pointers as to how it is done?

Found the fault by trial and error today. It was the TPS. Unplugging it results in a very happy cobra.

Will order a new one.

Would still be interested to hear experiences on diagnostics on this Ford engine though.

Thanks, will see if I can find a suitable forum. It's a very simple engine so I imagine it won't be very complicated :-)
