Recently bought a MK5 Golf for a steal. 1 owner, full VW History etc etc.

The wings were rotting, however replacements even came with the car!!

Although I’m struggling to get them off. Every bolt has been fine except the last two below.
They are loose, spin freely, and can see the thread spins around the back. But they will not come off. At all!

Any suggestions/ideas/knowledge greatly greatly appreciated!

Cut away the old wing as close to the bolts as you can

...then you'll likely be able to see what the problem is

... eg a Captive Bolt or Bracket that's come un-welded

Don't forget to consider how you're gonna get the wing securely refitted in this location before you remove the bolts themselves

I can’t remember if they are self tappers or bolts but guaranteed the insert they go into will be spinning.
See if you can grip the back with mole grips or pliers.

Angle grinder/hacksaw/Dremmel etc what ever you can get in there & just cut the bolt/screw, replace it & its captive end with the wing.
