Autodoc returns
Discussion
Has anybody returned an item to Autodoc post-Brexit?
Paid return postage (wasn't cheap either, quite a heavy part), completed customs forms and sent back to them with DPD. Item spent a week stuck at customs in Germany before status changed to "Awaiting Power of attorney (POA) from consignee", and then 7 hours later changed to "Returned to sender by customs"
Presumably this means Autodoc have refused to provide this POA. Never had this happen before. Any advice on what I need to do now? Rather frustrated by it, and Autodoc have been as much help as a blind lifeguard throughout the process.

I had to return an incorrect part 2 weeks ago.
I fixed the supplied return address label and the supplied customs declaration form to the outside in a clear plastic pouch. That was all that was required for a £65 part.
A week later they confirmed arrival, then a couple of days later, confirmed a refund.
They initially declined a refund request because I was outside their 14 day return period, but I had asked them to identify the suitable part for my car, giving them the VIN, and a Covid outbrake amongst the mechanics meant there was a delay getting my car into the workshop.
I found the actual returning process at the Post Office remarkable smooth.

Interesting that they supplied you with the label and declaration. They've not supplied anything to me, very unhelpful customer support in my experience and I've been left trying to organise it myself.I fixed the supplied return address label and the supplied customs declaration form to the outside in a clear plastic pouch. Glad to hear it went more smoothly for you however.
Autodoc are a shower of s
t tbh, took them over 4 months to refund me for a faulty AC Compressor plus i was allowed to claim for mechanics fees in which they only paid me half.
Each email was from a different person asking the same questions as the previous person and its on the email chain.
Each time i submitted the returns document, something else was missing, not you need to sign here/here/here etc.
The label and declaration returns forms can be found on their website or used to be.
If they f
k you around for so long, id just do a cc charge back against them, which is what i should have done with mine but i wanted the mechanic fees.
