Just hoping that someone can help with an air-con issue.

Had it re-gassed in January and it blows nice and cold for about 15-20minutes, then it just stops, no fans blowing or anything. If I turn off for a while (hour or so) then it will work again, but the cuts out again after a little while.

Local garage seem to think it's a leak, but if this was the case then surely it wouldn't restart after being off. Is there some switch/valve/sensor tripping tha could be causing it?

It's a 2016 Fiat Talento (Renault Traffic).

Cheers!

I would be tempted to think they may not have put enough "gas" in, take it back to them & get them to check it again.

If it was a leak the place that charged it shouldn't have recharged it as by law they have to do a vacuum & pressure test on it before charging it.

So they may have skipped the leak/pressure test and just charged it then. Will ask for the vacuum & pressure test results and see what they say.

That is not what I meant, as they will lose their license if they did that.

What I meant was that virtually removes the chance of it being a leak.

They can't skip it by law, they will know that they can't & they know they could lose their license to work on A/C.

You say "no fans blowing or anything" which kind of implies your issue is not with the A/C, which provides cool air, but is with your fan or heater controls. As it seems to be time related possibly it's a thermal cut out on the fans.

It could be anything capacitor burning out, overfilled and causing the pressure switch to jump, evap freezing
get it diagnosed

My Civic use to do a very similar thing. Work for a good few minutes then stop. I found it was the clutch on the compressor slipping. You could see it engaging but not turning. I re shimmed it and all was good.

Thanks, will look at the clutch and get someone to check the cut outs!

It won't be the clutch on the compressor, that would only account for cool air not coming out, yours will be general fan related as you said you stop getting any fan/blower/heater/AC or anything.
