Window switch not working - Skoda Fabia 2012
Discussion
Hi, friend has a Skoda Fabia from about 2012.
The drivers side and passenger side window doesn't work, the driver has a switch for both driver and passenger windows, neither works.
However the passenger switch for their window does work.
So I'm confused - if it was a fuse neither window would work, if it was the drivers switches why would both fail at the same time?
Cheers

The switch communicates with the rest of the car by CANBus or similar even in a 2012. So, think of each switch unit as a separate module. If the driver's side module isn't communicating with the bus, the passenger one still could be.The drivers side and passenger side window doesn't work, the driver has a switch for both driver and passenger windows, neither works.

Automotive electronics is all just finite state models, at least that was what my UML training told me

Indeed, had exactly the same fault with a Mk6 Golf, turned out to be the driver's door module.Gassing Station | Home Mechanics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
