Do any of you guys use them, Any tips on a decent make, will sub 100 quid buy a worthwhile one?
Spend your money on a new battery instead.Sulfation is a one-way chemical process and supposed "desulfation" is just a partial mechanical cleaning of the lead plates with all the crud sinking to the bottom of the battery.
Best way to address sulfation is to keep your battery fully charged. If you want a battery that can be drained and charged, drained and charged you need to find a "deep cycle" battery. They tend to be more expensive.

The reason I want one is because I have a pile of recently removed batteries which grows larger by the week, many of which I suspect couldSulfation is a one-way chemical process and supposed "desulfation" is just a partial mechanical cleaning of the lead plates with all the crud sinking to the bottom of the battery.

be brought back to a good enough condition which I can give out to friends and family in emergencies over the winter, and for the cars we get
in with either no battery, or completely dead and unable to take a charge. It's not for doing just one battery.

Thanks for posting that interesting link which I did read through, however I'm just after something that is plug and play / reliable.
I also found it a good read, have never used one or checked out what the job was aboutHave, drained, filled, charged, discharged and charged again to get some life into batteries
As mentioned above, there's loads of nasty stuff at the bottom of the battery and tipping them up can jam some of it between the plates
All good stuff though innit
