Anyone bought one of these yet ?
I've been watching some YouTube vids and its getting a lot of praise for its power as a mid torque model.

Its obviously way over spec for a home spanner man but, but my current 12 year old Dewalt battery drill maybe up for renewal at the same time (original batteries are dead and I don't read great things about the aftermarket knock offs)
So I'm thinking buying one of them as a bare tool and share the battery's.

And if I get a Dewalt garden strimmer too that takes the same battery, then my man math says its a bargain !

I've just bought one. I almost bought the 899, but decided that was overkill for my use. I think the 812/1152 Nm should be enough for me and it's smaller too.
I don't think I'll be using it for a while though.

I have the 899 and it really is the best tool I have ever bought. It'll remove axle nuts in less than a second.

I want an impact to use on my Grand Cherokee for suspension and steering components refresh.
I think this model should do it, and if I ever get stuck my friend around the corner has the 899, but hes a professional mech so needs it.

I've got an 899 and love it, but want something smaller to fit in more places but ideally using the same 18v batteries.

The 891 fits the bill, but only seems 50mm shorter, which doesn't seem worth it?

When I was looking, the ones smaller than the 891 had much lower torque.

Well I pulled the pin today and ordered up the Dewalt 891 Impact kit with 2 x 5Ah batteries + charger + case for a great deal of £271 of flea bay.

I also ordered the Dewalt 996 battery drill as a bare tool for £95 of e-bay also, to replace my 13 year old 14.4 V dewalt with dying batteries.

So I'm in at £366 all in, but playing the long game, and at my age, these tools will see my spannering / DIY'ing days out !

1 set of batteries and 1 charger to do it all will simplify my very small workshop space too wink

Plan to get the Dewalt grass strimmer and a torch later as a bare tools

I do like my Dewalt kit. I have the 899 impact wrench, a much smaller impact driver, a drill, and also a long pole hedge trimmer. I run them all off 2.0Ah original batteries and they all work well. I find that even the 899 works well with them. Had the 891 been available at the time, I'd have bought that instead of the 899, but I have it now and I'm sure it'll suffice for whatever I need. I also have a rather large 15CFM air compressor, so I can use cheap air tools as well. Not bothered to get an air impact wrench, but if I see one at a car boot or something, then I might get one as a backup. But yes, love my Dewalt!

899 owner here, too.

I wouldn't be without it now. Fantastic bit of kit.
