Don't know if this is the right place for this but here goes.
I have just bought a 62 plate Astra diesel.First couple of weeks all has been fine but the last few days i have been unable to unlock the car with the remote.Instead i have to unlock the drivers door manually and then with the ignition switched on unlock the rest of the doors from the button on the dash.At first i thought it was a key battery so that has been replaced but the manual says the key has to be synched with the car.
At first the local dealer said that i had to put the key in the ignition turn it on until all the warning lights come on and press the lock and unlock buttons alternately. The parts advisor then saw the car and said that its a later vehicle and should do it automatically neither of which has worked. It probably doesn't help that whilst my car is a 2012 the only manual i can find is online and for a 2013 car.Can anyone help.

Some actually charge the key fob battery when the key is in the ignition. I'd say it needs a new fob battery that's all.

Thanks for this.I have tried it although at first glance it looks the same as the 2013 manual however we discovered tonight that it seems
to be very directional as it seems to work okay when used from the drivers side so i am guessing the receiver is on that side. Its predecessor
was a Xsara Picasso and with that you could be facing away from the car and indoors and it would still work.
