An Increase in Oil Consumption
Discussion
Lately, I’ve noticed that my car needs more oil and I’m wondering if there’s something wrong with it. I’m looking to take my car to this garage in Northampton, but if there’s some solution you guys could suggest I would really appreciate it!
Let me know if you have any handy tips to fix the issue!

he or she is clearly new to the forum, probably knows very little about cars, so googled for some help and ended up here.
Having some wise -ass come back with a post like yours doens't really help the general ambience of the site. So maybe, re-phrase your question and ask for the missing info.
then maybe PH can do what is does best and .... de-rail the thread.

The oil evaporation system could be blocked causing higher consumption. This can be cleaned out.
A compression and leak down test would show any bigger problems.
Any garage would be able to do these.
Or the engine is getting worn out and the piston rings are letting oil past into the combustion cylinder, burning it.A compression and leak down test would show any bigger problems.

The amount of oil consumed over the miles driven would be a good place to start so how much oil extra over how many miles?
My 165,000 mile Fiesta ST150 that I thrash to within an inch of its life drinks oil, i keep 2 litres in the boot, I check regularly and top up as required (about 1 litre per month)
If you take your car to a garage with so little information they could rip you off for a lot of money.
Does the engine smoke a bit ( blue smoke out of the exhaust not how many ciggies)
How many miles has the engine done
What car
What engine
Does the car do only local miles or does it do some motorway mileage
Oil consumption can be caused by worn bores or piston rings.
Blocked or restricted engine breathers
Valve stem oil seals
Leaving the sump plug off
Major seal leaks (nothing worse that a leaky elephant seal)

I would recommend taking your car for regular maintenance because sometimes it has issues we can’t see. There are various factors that lead to bad fuel efficiency and you should take it to a garage for servicing. Since you live in Northampton, I highly recommend visiting In Town Automotive(https://www.intownautomotive.co.uk/).
They provide free visual tests and good servicing, so I recommend checking them out!

Oh I see what's going on here. They provide free visual tests and good servicing, so I recommend checking them out!
Is this sort of blatant and slightly shady advertising allowed on PH?
In Town Automotive, you've lost at least one Northampton resident with these shenanigans
