Bushing tool kit
Discussion
At some point next year I'd like to replace some suspension bushings. I've replaced suspension components before, but I'd like to graduate from "DIY part swapper" to "DIY mechanic"... Plus save some money into the bargain.
From what I've seen I have a choice of a bench top hydraulic press (a MachineMart type that is essentially a bottle jack in a frame) or a screw type. The screw type looks like I'll be able to get a full kit for a little over £100 with the various "cups", whereas the hydraulic ones now start at over £200 with a handful of adaptors. So, for infrequent use I'm tending towards the screw type.
Does anyone have any recommendations for sets they've got on with, or alternatively found to be utterly crap?

There’s not much that can go wrong with a steel disc/sleeve that you’d get in any Chinese bearing puller set.
There’s quite a few different variations on Amazon in cheap feeling blue or red plastic cases.
I bought one for £55 to do a front wheel bearing.
Worked perfectly with a decent blathering of grease over the forcing screw and washers.
Figure out the size of your bushings and just find the cheapest set that lists those.
A kit which contains thrust washers to use on the screws would be a bonus but not essential.
If you really want to save some money you could use the right sized sockets as mentioned above, along with some fine pitch threaded bar and big washers.
