Hi,
Have pinhole leak in metal power steering pipe. Pipe is no longer available and can't find a second hand one, can anyone recommend a permanent repair or a company that can make a copy (Essex pref)
TIA

No scrapyard nearby?

Or is it something out of the ordinary?

What's it on & which pipe?

If it's the kit car mentioned in your garage what is it based on & what was the donor car?

Maybe worth trying someone who works on agricultural machinery - preferably a small outfit rather than a main dealer (for a better price).

Agricultural machinery uses all kinds of high-pressure fluid systems and a lot of these guys will have kit to make pipes to fit - you'll need to take the old one as a model.

Thanks for replies, apologies should have said it's off Vectra vxr, the pipe that runs under the radiator.

Assuming it's in a straight bit, and not just one of a multitude of holes that will appear when you disturb it, cutting it and joining with a compression fitting can get it usable again while you sort out a proper fix.

For said proper fix, if there's anywhere nearby that does hydraulics stuff, they may be able to make something suitable.

Appreciate you want a new old stock or made to measure new one, but if it helps this part was common to the 2.8 Vectras and the SAAB 9-3 with the same engine... PN 12767439.

Unfortunately my SAAB parts seller of choice (Neobrothers) is showing it as out of stock, however might be worth calling them in case they can get new old stock. £192, ouch.

Alternatively, Leelac SAAB (a specialist in Stevenage who breaks cars) might be able to get you one. Depending on where in Essex you are might not be too far.

Give your local "hydraulic hose repair" franchise a call, they can likely make something up to do the job.
