I have a discovered there's a black plastic box attached to the top of the battery on my 1.2 Corsa runnabout I bought back in October. Does anyone have an idea what it is ? I'm assuming some kind of data logging device. I was going to charge the battery with my CTek charger. If it doesn't need to be there, I'd prefer to remove it. Hopefully there will be a picture below.

I've already tried that which is why I'm posting. I can't get it open and don't want to break anything by forcing it. It is after all attached to the battery and I need to use the car. I shall probably get in touch with the dealer I bought it from as they may know.

If it didn't serve a purpose, Vauxhall wouldn't spend time and money putting it there.

You can attach your charger to the accessible positive terminal and any earth in the engine bay, you don't need to start taking things in bits.

I can't speak for the Corsa (how old is it? ) but some of these are part of the 'smart' charging system.

So you know what it is then ? That was the question posted. I'm quite aware that I can charge the battery.

You'll need air tools and compressor to remove that....

Awesome!

I've got to change a laptop battery with a T5 torx bit. I've got a compressor and impact gun. Has anyone got an idea of how to connect the t5 bit to it please? What air pressure should I use?

Don't forget the Sthil saw!!

OP it should have fuses in it and you can charge straight onto that exposed positive on the battery.

3/4" air impact gun might do it but to be on the safe probably better to use a 1" impact, the sort they use for taking lorry wheel nuts off. As much air pressure as your compressor can deliver.

Milwaukee m18 fuel is what you use and no compressor required.

Those need to be mig welded on. A simple slide on attachment just isn't man enough..
