Easiest way to get door glass out of mk4 golf rear door

So my pd130 had a meltdown and decided to lock the keys inside (only 1 key oops) i ended up having to smash the glass to get in ive got a replacement door with glass.. do i have to lower the window to get the glass out of the door (window is up on scrapyard door).. ive worked out i could possibly power it from my car to get it down,but is there an easier route? cheers lads

You can power it with a 12v drill battery and speaker wire
