I'm looking for a 2 post lift for my garage, currently looking at this one for no other reason than my mechnaic has had lifts from these guys for a few years and had no issues with them:

4 tonne £1,700 inc VAT delivered or £2,000 inc vat delivered and installed - https://progaragelifts.co.uk/collections/lifts/pro...

5 tonne £2,000 inc VAT delivered or £2,400 inc vat delivered and installed - https://progaragelifts.co.uk/collections/lifts/pro...

Any other recommendations? I have ~3m headroom so it just about works. Floor slab is reinforced and should be 250mm thick. Mainly used for car storage of the VX220 and occasional use on the oily bits.

I'd say if your mate who uses them professionally is happy then that's the one to go for - Automech aren't any cheaper by the looks, and offer a 3500kg instead of 4000kg lift at the same price (£10 cheaper!)

The only thing I'd consider is a clear-floor version: https://automotechservices.co.uk/products/as-6240t...

The 2 post version with the overhead hydraulics provides for a clean floor but will require the better part of 12 feet of overhead clearance. The OP only has 9'.....so probably a no go.

I have a 2 post with overhead piping. Defo want help raising it. Surprisingly weighty.

Sorry missed that in the OP, quite right.

I’ve got two poster and scissor lifts from them. Both spot on.

Infloor flush scissor is a brilliant bit of kit but a tt to install.

Plus there appears to be a staircase that lowers from the roof void that the overhead gubbins might interfere with.

I'm getting a bit of garage envy now!

Have a look at Twinbusch. I'm very happy with mine. Service was great, quality seems excellent. In hobby use including a rebuild of a defender where the body remained raised on it for 2 months, for 3 years now. No faults. :touchwood:

Oh and I did a self build house. I specified 300mm concrete floor. It's nowhere near. 200mm at best in the middle and closer to 100mm at the edge by the wall. frown

Automotech 4 tonne 2 post lift being delivered on Thursday. Delivery is curtain sided trailer only so I have had to get a farmer friend to bring his tractor in to town to unload it!
