Standard Size Blade Fuses Z Wire?

Does anyone know why some of the standard size blade fuses have a Z wire in them where others have a U shape wire? I am normally used to seeing the U shaped wire ones, are the Z ones a cheap/copy make?

I don't know, but I suppose it may be related to getting the desired blow speed.
