Anyone know what this is and where it should go?
It fell out from behind the cover in the passenger footwell when I removed it to access the air-con condenser drain. It looks like it was once stuck somewhere but I have no idea what to.
I guess it could have fallen from higher up inside the dash.
It's a 2019 Mazda 2 if that helps.

It looks soft and spongy. My guess would be an anti-rattle fix of some sort.

Looks like a rubber baby buggy bumper

There is a sticky strip on the flat side, hence my suggestion of an anti-rattle piece. But it can’t have surrounded a tube or wire or it will still be in place.

It's not very big, roughly 2x1cm on the base. Looks like it may have been unstuck for a while judging by the fluff and carpet fibres on the sticky pad.
Not sure the car has ever seen children (rear seats and doors are unmarked smile), though I know from experience that they can wedge small items in some very unusual places.
Nothing rattling at the moment so I'll just put it in the box of random bits and bobs for now.

Thanks TwinKam, will have a look as I did take the glovebox out to change the cabin filter.

Nope. No sign of a missing glove box bumper. Had my head inside the hole where it fits too to look around the back of the dash.
Still a mystery part confused

Does the glove drop with a clatter or is it damped/cushioned?
