I want to buy zimmermann discs as they have good reports. But don’t seem to be any uk suppliers only places like autodoc. Anyone tried them / any opinions / thoughts? Looks like the zimmermann brake pads aren’t available for my model so would have to use with something else, probably try some ceramic ones as less dust from what I hear.

Autodoc are OK apart from the delivery time, takes at least a week for parts to arrive, using their App is cheaper

Ok, I’ve never used them. Maybe ok if I order now and plan to do at Easter then.

As it is a mini why not try OE pads/discs from mini, you might be surprised at the price.

Don’t see why you don’t buy something from the likes of Mintex which is still a good product.
People overthink brands sometimes for normal daily use vehicles.

Wouldn't touch Mintex at all; they've been ste for years

OP would be best to stick to OEM brands like ATE, Jurid and Textar; like Zimmerman, all can be found on Autodoc or eBay UK via tried & trusted resellers

Go for standard discs and ATE Ceramic pads if you can find them / do them for your car

ATE, Jurid and Textar will be OEM IIRC

Mintex being poor doesn't make sense when they, Textar and Pagid are all TMD Friction. They all share the same website layout and Brakebook.

All made to different levels of costs; it's well known that Mintext are at the cheap end and don't do well at all... They're also well known for being 'faked' on the market...

But hey ho; you use them. I wouldn't go anywhere near them ever again. Always had stty issues with them; they're crap for a reason!

Currently waiting for BMW dealer I use to get back to me with OE prices. Unfortunately the ATE ceramic pads don’t seem to be available, perhaps not for my model at all as can’t see them listed.

Do you have the specific part numbers for the parts you're after?

They don't cover all cars for the ceramic pads unfortunately

With the bmw dealer I’ve just given my chassis number etc but looking it up myself on realoem it is 34116855782 Brake disc ventilated, perforated for the discs but thats £278 a pair looking at vertu motors (bmw dealer) who have them listed. I doubt that’s worth it over something like zimmermann at half that price?
OE pads 34106860642 looks like brembo pads P06068 are £58. Not sure if mini branded pads are available. (The calipers are brembo)

No don’t know the ATE pad part number it’s just when I was searching for my model they didn’t come up as an option

I’ve used them for over 30 years on various every day cars and never really had an issue.
I’m aware they are not the Mintex of old but no complaints from me really.

I have to admit I have used them for decades, and never had an issue, maybe I have been lucky as I know they are widely faked.

Jurid, Textar and TRW (all OEM) are available on Autodoc at price heck of a lot lower than OEM BMW (which will be one of those 3 makes FYI)

I'd go down that route personally unless you're desperate and need them yesterday, if that makes sense?

Ordered last wed night 10.30pm received today (Tuesday) so good going!

Got zimmermann discs and TRW pads. I’d never heard of them so used the advice above thanks. Not all brands were in stock so had to choose the best option
