My daughter has a 2006 Fiesta and is complaining of a creaking noise when it goes over bumps or under braking. She's 200 miles away so I can't pop out and have a look... she's had the brakes stripped and reassembled, the front shocks changed and the lower arms too. I'm thinking top mounts, but anyone got any better ideas?

Why did she have all that work done? If it was an attempt to cure this noise, that was incredibly dumb. And if this work preceded the funny noises then take it back to whoever did the work and ask them to fix it. Obviously it's impossible to know what's causing it from this side of the screen and all we can suggest is replace the few parts of the suspension and steering that haven't already been messed with.

Shocks and bottom arms were for the MOT, brakes she wanted checked in case there was a safety issue. Noise pre-dated the work. Question was on the off chance that someone had experienced similar.

Fiesta is a simple set-up. What hasn't been changed yet are the top mounts, the ARB 'D' bushes and the drop links on the suspension front, and the rack, the track-rods and ends on the steering. Could be any of these'!

Don’t know if this applies to the Fiesta but when it happened (frequently) on my Alfa’s it was the upper wishbones
