Thought I’d make this topic to be informative if anyone else ever experiences the same.

I have a 2014 Mercedes e220d amg sport 2.1l which has 137,000 miles on the clock.

I was shopping about once and thought I’d pickup some redex fuel injector treatment as my grandad used to swear by it.

I put a bottle in with my tank and over the next 3 days of using it the power reduced and the car became very sluggish, then throwing up the engine management light.

I had a read about but unfortunately not many people have had the same hence the reason for making this post.

The fuel filter was due a service and my obd scanner wasn’t to hand so I decided to change that before anything else, but no fix to the problem.

After scanning I had a p2463 code show saying the dpf was blocked.

Headed back over to halfords for some dpf cleaner, after giving it the beans and driving for around 50 miles still no luck.

By this point I was stressing about costs of cleaning the dpf or even replacing (yes I know about dpf deletes, we won’t talk about that).

But halfords offer a £85 dpf deep clean, I managed to book in next day for 8:30am and to my surprise they managed to clear my dpf completely with 0% blockage in 2 hours.

So very happy with halfords for saving me the extra £££ but I thought I’d make this incase someone in the future has a panic as well.

Luckily no further costs!
