No idea how you would do it on a modern car. But one of my better cock ups form years ago involved one. I had an MG Midget and fitted one of these switches, a few months later I got a job abroad for a few months and left the car parked up. On my return I tried to get it started, no luck tried jump starting it went through all the checks and could not work out why it had no power to the coil.

Was in the pub with a mate later that day after spending hours messing about with it. He just said "you have switched that switch you fitted, haven't you?"

I was going to purchase a car and was driving the mrs golf with big desert boots on

Caught the switch and the car broke down.
AA couldn’t work out why it had stopped then found a wire and traced it.
Felt a right jerk
