Basically, I have a heavy duty 3t jack but, when I need to use it on my cars it's a real pig to get it out the shed at the end of the garden and drag this big hefty lump out the front.

I was thinking, for the simpler jobs, get a basic scissor type jack...a bit like what you get with your car from factory but, I was it to have a nut on the end, so I can use my drill to lift the car.

I'm sure I've seen these in the past. Do they exist? And where?

I too have a fantastic 3T jack but for quick jobs I just use a 2T trolly jack

They weigh sub 10kg circa £30 on ebay delivered

I recommend the lightweight (relatively) aluminium low entry arcan Jack from Costco. Has lasted really well for me and is not too bad to lug around as it is not too heavy.

I've got one of these

https://www.halfords.com/tools/garage-workshop/axl...

It's really good, but what I hadn't appreciated at all when I bought it was the handle at the mid point on its chassis to be able to pick it up.

It makes grabbing it off the garage floor and lifting it up with just one hand really easy, as opposed to having to bend both knees and do a proper kinetic lift as I had to with my old trolley jack, which did not have this kind of handle.

It also means I don't compromise on strength of the jack, as I dislike using an emergency scissor jack.

I've got the older version of this (no handle) and it's been pretty good for the 5-6 years I've had it. Only thing I would say is the handle is very short and on mine at least angles up wards. Depending on how you jack your car up this might be an issue. For example on mine I jack from the front subframe, meaning there's not really any room to pump the handle once it's under there. This is very car specific of course and if you're only jacking from the side won't be an issue.
