Hi All,

I am faced with the need to replace both headlights on my SLK as I am converting it from RHD to LHD as part of registration abroad.

This means I will need to swap the headlights. Options are the OE spec Magneti Marelli (same as Bosch) for £500 or Van Wezel for £300.

Any feeback on the cheaper option? I've read poor feedback on DEPO and TYC, but not so much on Van Wezels...

Btw, I tried looking into replacing just the glass part, but unfortunately the reflector is also "handed" so m mechanic reckons that it would need reflectors too. This sound correct? (lens + reflectors = more than whole unit)

What age is the car?

I ask as many have a "selectable" drive side lever on the headlights.

Its a 2001 SLK. Quite sure there isn't the selector you're mentioning...

Unless its not covered by the manual and its not very clear when looking at the unit itself?
